WARREN — A second arrest has been made four months after police investigated a 2-year-old boy being shot in the hand.
Jamarr Jenkins, 20, of Kenmore Avenue SE, was in Warren Municipal Court via video Friday where he pleaded not guilty and was given a $10,000 bond. His next hearing will take place Aug. 8 in municipal court.
He was arrested Thursday afternoon after attempting to run away as police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle, police said. Jenkins was a passenger in the back seat.
Police have had an arrest warrant for Jenkins since the March 26 incident that injured the child.
The first arrest in the matter occurred the same day when police arrived at Trumbull Regional Medical Center and arrested Ke’Vonna Marion, 23, of Martin Street, on a third-degree felony child endangering charge. She will be in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court for a hearing on Wednesday.
On Thursday, Jenkins hopped out of the back seat, starting a brief foot pursuit. He eventually fell to the ground and surrendered to police, according to a police report.
Jenkins sustained injuries to the bottoms of his feet, with police noting that he was bleeding.
After being treated at St. Joseph Warren Hospital, he was taken to Trumbull County jail.
The driver of the vehicle was given a citation for driving without a license.
